Birdwatching in Almeria

In the little village of Níjar, in Almería, three birdwatchers –two Britons and a Spaniard- were enjoying their preferred activity. They parked their car near a marshland and went to seek a good place for spotting birds. When they came back to the car they saw it vandalized and the optical material inside stolen: two telescopes, a binocular and a digital camera, valued 3 thousands euros.

Thanks to the Spaniard they could report the facts to the Guardia Civil. Rapidly they went to the marshland and find out two NorthAfrican looking guys in the area carrying the stolen items. It was an area of extensive greenhouses for agriculture and it seemed that the thieves lived in a hut near them. The Guardia Civil officers run behind one of them taking him into custody. The three victims stayed by the car, alone. Suddenly the other thief appeared and threatened the three birdwatchers which couldn’t believe what was going on. Finally a Guardia Civil officer came back and took into custody the second thief.

Reasonably, the three birdwatchers have declared they’re not going birdwatching to that place anymore.
