TRAM CONTINUES GROWING

The city of Alicante continues growing. Some years ago, the city installed the first streetcar, the first line of the Tram, which connected the city center with San Juan beach.

This initiative was a whole success, so the Government decides to continue making lines to connected more parts of the city.

From my point of view, one of the most interesting initiatives has been the creation of a line which connected the city with the University.

The Line 2 of the Tram, which works began last February will connected the center of Alicante, in the first phase, with to the Center of Health 2 of San Vicente, and with the University.
The Minister of Infrastructures and Transport, Mario Flores, has announced that the line 2 of the streetcar between Alicante and San Vicente del Raspeig might begin to work in tests at the end of this year and in service at the beginning of 2009.
I think this initiative is really interesenting for the students who usually go to the university by bus or by car, because, at the moment there are a lots of cars in the parking, and sometimes it is quite dificult to find a place to park. I hope people will use this kind of transport because I think it will be faster than the bus or your own car.
