Edmund and Cleopatra

Edmund and Cleopatra is a play that relates one of the works of William Shakespeare. The play has interpreted by two actors, one man who played Edmund and one woman who played Cleopatra.
It began when Edmund Shakespeare appeared in scene drunk and speaking about how wonderful was the city of Egypt.
Suddenly, also, appeared in scene a beautiful young woman who confused Edmund with his brother William Shakespeare, and she said him if he could do a play to her because she said to be a Cleopatra’s descendent.
Edmund tried to explain her that he isn´t who she believes, but she didn´t leave him speak. Edmund was preparing the play when he remembered that his brother had wrote a similar play so, he decided to take the play and give it to the young woman.
So, the following days Cleopatra starts to visit Edmund , and Edmund ask her to pay for the “realized work”. Then, they start reading the play and Cleo simulate her suicide when she is bitten by a snake. Edmund runs to searching a doctor and when Cleo is alone she starts to laugh and leaves with the book in her hands without having paid Edmund as she had promised.

In our opinion, the actors were very good because they got to make us smile for every time. Moreover, they took us like a volunteers for interpret some parts. These volunteers enjoyed acting and they did it very good.
In the other hand, costumes were simple but these represented the essence of the time. Furthermore, only we needed the actors for put in the play.
As for the scenery, we could say that it wasn´t suitable, but we understand that the play is low cost.
The play makes us feel happy and we enjoy it. We think that this is a great form to learn English because the actors spoke very clearly and not very fast, but perhaps the language that they used weren’t very common.
On the whole, the play was sensational, the actors brilliants and the public was dedicated to it.

How I Met Your Mother

How I met your mother is an American situation comedy created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. The plot is about a father (the main character, Ted,) in the year 2030 who tells to his son and daughter how he met their mother and the events that occurs when he was younger. How I Met Your Mother's other main characters are Marshall Eriksen, Robin Scherbatsky, Barney Stinson, and Lily Aldrin. Thomas and Bays drew from “their friendship and in the stupid stuff they did un New York” in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays, and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife.
In that tv serie, the narrator is the main character at the same time, and in the show usually features multiple flashbacks in each episode.
The theme song is from the song Hey Beautiful by The Solids, of which Bays and Thomas are members.
Many scenes of the show take place in the bar "MacLaren's. This bar is based on a bar in New York called McGees.
Sinopsis:
In the year 2030, Ted Mosby reminds his stories from when he was young to tell to his daughter and son the story of how he met their mother .
The story begins in 2005 with Ted as a single, 27-year-old architect living with his two best friends from Wesleyan University, Marshall Eriksen, a law student, and Lily Aldrin, a teacher of a nursery school, who have been dating for almost nine. Their engagement causes Ted to think about marriage and finding his perfect woman, But in the opposite hand, his friend Barney Stinson that he met in a bathroom after a night of drinks, hate the weddings and love in general. Barney has a lot of short (very short stories with girls that he met at nigth in the discos. He has an unnamed corporate job. But one day, Ted begins his search for his perfect mate and he is introduced to the ambitious young reporter Robin Scherbatsky who is from Canada, when Ted met her he quickly falls in love with Robin, and then have some periods that they are enganged but Robin isn’t prepared, so they have some ups and downs.

Some ideas for Spanish students improve their English level:

Dear Editor,
I’ve been thinking about the bad English level that our students have, and I consider that there are lots of ways to improve it.
First of all, I think that the local government could make something like to create small clubs for young people from all the nationalities keep in touch and speak in the languages they’re studying, because I believe that, nowadays, the new generations might be prepared to relate with people from all over the word, and they might learn not only English as a foreign language, they could learn more like French, German…because our society is demanding it because I believe that it is very necessary.
I think that learn languages is a little bit expensive, and, in the schools the level is insufficient.
The problem is that to have a good level in foreign languages couldn’t be a question of a little group of people who can pay the education for them; I think that this is a question that should concern to the governments and all of us.
I hope that this topic worries readers and someone adopts the necessary measures to solve it.

Alicante in alert because of the "Gota fría"

All Alicante province has been on orange alert this weekend because of the “gota fría”, which began last Thursday, and is causing many problems.

A front of cold air has come from the Atlantic, and has hit Alicante Province during last days, and has instigated a brusque fall in the temperatures.

The heavy rain began on Wednesday night with forecasts saying that it would continue during the weekend with expected rain levels of 200 litres per square metre.

Regional officials have said to the citizens to be careful and not to go out with the car if it is possible because it could be very dangerous. They have also advised people not to try to cross flooded areas and if they are trapped in a car, to take away the radio antenna and keep doors and windows closed.
In case of brutal storm, people at home are advised to disconnect all electrical equipment to protect them from power surges.

Local councils have been told to put their flood risk plans in operation, to stay on alert to the changes in weather and to adopt preventative measures.

Many towns that suffered floods in October 2007 are looking with much fear to the ski, and they are the first to adopt preventive flood measures; they are praying with impatience so nature won’t castigate them again.
