2008 Global Forum for sport and environment

The United Nations Environment Programme in collaboration with the Global Sport alliance of Japan and Volvo will be hosting the 2008 Global Forum for sport and environment(G-FORSE) in Alicante.

The Forum, whose theme is climate change: changimg our carbon footprint, will address the connection between sports and climate change and review actions by sporty organizations to reduce the carbon footprints.

The Forum will be held in conjunction with the launch of Volvo Ocean Race. The 200 participants of the Forum will come from sports organizations and federations, sports personalities, The International Olympic Commitee, manufactures of sporting goods, United Nations agencies, NGO's and government representatives.
